Welcome to my personal blog, where I will be showcasing current and previous projects I have undertaken.
I have extensive experience in the production of press publications, newsletters, marketing analysis reports and articles for national companies in both the print (magazines, newspapers) and digital (social media channels, websites) environment.
Examples of my previous experience includes producing a full digital marketing SWOT analysis report of a leading UK fashion e-tailer, discussing their current online strategy and how they can better engage their audience through the exploration of a number of promotions and schemes. I have also produced SEO-focused articles on international business etiquette and ethics for a business consultancy firm, successfully administrated a front-page ranked football and social media based website (as well as writing content for their website and social media channels) and produced articles for a number of other print and digital news outlets.
I was selected as Head of Marketing during Enterprise by Design 2011, a multi-disciplinary competition which involved teaming up with Business, Design, Psychology and Engineering representatives to successfully develop, market and produce a product for a leading British camping equipment manufacturer. In this role, I spearheaded the marketing strategy for our product, and how to develop a positive brand identity with our target demographic. Our success within this competition led to us being finalists, receiving a substantial cash prize.
For 18 months during and in the aftermath of my university education, I gained thorough experience working under the tutelage of social media trainer and consultant Andrew Davis in a position of online content production and community management. Through this experience, I developed my skills in communicating towards a specific audience, as well as proficient knowledge of CMS (specifically WordPress), SEO writing and analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools and Insights.
Previous retail employment has also helped me to develop strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work confidently within a highly pressurised environment. I have also been given roles of responsibility within retail, developing my team-leadership and delegation skills.
My natural creativity and affinity for communication also shows in my hobbies, which includes an interest in blogging and radio-show production, the latter of which I was able to develop during my time at university as producer and presenter of a number of shows for the university’s student radio station ‘Storm FM’.
